The Smoke Evader

Introducing a revolutionary new fire safety product. The Lucidair Smoke Evader, a fire escape airpack designed to facilitate safe egress from a smoke filled or toxic environment.
It's Safe, Inexpensive, Rechargeable, Intuitive and Easy To Use. Designed to be mounted by the bed, with provided hardware, the Smoke Evader is there when and where you need it most.

Dont Be Out Of Air!

  • A fire extinguisher may save your things but an Airpack may save your life

The Emergency

Your home is on fire! Thick black toxic smoke is billowing under the bedroom door. Reach for a Lucidair airpack, deploy the charge, and suddenly with a burst of fresh cool air, you can gather your thoughts and family together and safely execute your escape plan.

Effective Zone

'How long does it last?' Well, that depends, an adult male under heavy exertion requires considerably more air than a child at rest, so his effective zone, as you can see below, is at least a minute. An adult female has about 90 seconds, and a child has over 2 minutes. This device, by its very physical nature, puts women and children first.

Who Needs Them

4000 North Americans die each year in residential fires, the vast majority as a result of smoke inhalation. These are preventable statistics. With the widespread application of our product we project cutting that number by 25% within a decade. We polled 350 residential consumers, the results were unanimous, every single individual liked the idea. No one had seen anything like it before. 94% indicated that if the product was reasonably priced, they would consider purchasing it.

Actual Demonstration

Here is a link to a video displaying the airpack in action. Deployed inside a Condominium apartment on the fifth floor and delivering a charge until well after the user is outside of the building. The user is blindfolded to simulate the situation of a visibility reduction.

Vital Quotes

"The largest percentage of fire deaths in the home occur at night while people are asleep. Therefore, a working smoke alarm can provide an early warning that can make the difference between life and death. According to studies published by the National Fire Protection Association, having a smoke alarm cuts your risk of dying in a fire by nearly half. However, a smoke alarm should be part of an overall home fire safety strategy that also includes preventing fires by adopting fire safe behaviour, and developing and practicing a home fire escape plan. In a fire, escape time may be very limited. Therefore, escape plans are a critical aspect of a home fire safety strategy."

The Fire Marshals Public Safety Council

In tests of three types of smoke alarms - ionization, photoelectric and combination models - a group of U.S. fire officials watched smoke pour from a smouldering sofa.
They were stunned to see the photoelectric model sound two minutes faster than a combination model, and more than seven minutes before the ionization design. When the last alarm finally activated after 15 minutes and 40 seconds, all present had already donned masks because it was impossible to breathe.
