Hold Grip And Rotate Tank

Directions for charging:

(Most SCUBA dive shops will have the required facilities and personnel for recharging.) Remove mask neck component to access fill nipple. Attach quick connect (standard paintball adapter). Open valve by grasping grip and turning tank in direction of arrows until grip bottoms out. Charge to rated pressure. Close valve by grasping grip and rotating tank in opposite direction to arrows until valve seats. Do not over- tighten. Remove quick connect. Snap fit mask neck to top of grip. Attach vinyl mask. Tank will become warm during charging and will cool upon being deployed, which is normal.

Charge only with breathable air.

APPROXIMATE EFFECTIVE DISCHARGE TIME 1-2 MINS.

FULLY DISCHARGES IN APPROXIMATELY 4 MINS.

Directions For Use:

Hold grip and rotate tank in direction of arrows. Place mask to face and breathe normally. Escape quickly, do not return. This device delivers a significant quantity of air, it can be quite loud, this is normal & safe. Keep out of the reach of children under six. Deploy as soon as you smell smoke. Sound an alarm. Call for assistance.

Effective discharge time 1 - 2 mins. Fully discharges in ~ 4 mins.

Includes pressure gauge, ‘rupture' disk pressure relief system & seamless steel construction for maximum safety. Also includes, spare ‘O' rings, mounting bracket and hardware.

Practice and Recharge.

Recommended yearly visual inspections by qualified dive shop personnel. Each year it is a good idea to practice deploying a tank. Can be used to practice fire alarm drills. Charge immediately after use. If you have more than one in the home try using just one a year and rotating years. Every 5 years replace or hydrocheck the tank, visit our website for replacements. Valve mechanism is reusable. Unit is packed with a spare set of “O” rings. Replace when servicing. To recharge, take airpack to a local SCUBA shop. See our website for locations in your area. The fill fitting is identical to a paintball fitting, call and ask if they can recharge air style paintball cylinders. Do not recharge at paintball facilities.

Helpful Hints:

Have, and practice an escape plan! Always feel doors before opening. Keep Low. If your clothes catch flame, drop & roll. Do not break windows, open normally if possible. If smoke enters, close. Practice blindfolded. Encourage children to yell for help if they spot fire or smoke. Discourage children from hiding in the event of a fire. Change your smoke detector batteries twice a year.

Hanging Instructions:

Recommended location for unit is to be hung by the bracket supplied, within arms reach of your bed. Alternatively, it can also be stored in a night table drawer. Recommended if you have small children.

Further Information:

This device is equipped with a flow control style delivery mechanism, while this is not the most efficient system of contents delivery it is the type of device most intuitive to novice users. A regulator style device (while more efficient)

delivers at a constant rate until fully depleted, this gives users a false sense of security. Only by constant observation of contents gauges can a user accurately judge a regulator style device's remaining charge. By the time the Smoke

Evader is at about half full, users will have a clear sense (by level of flow, pitch and volume) of the diminishing charge. The only reason this device should ever be used is to escape or practice escape from a toxic environment. Never under any circumstances use the device to re-enter a dangerous environment, that is the job of professional rescuers. Safely escape and call emergency response personnel.

Limited Warranty

This product is warranted to be free from manufacture defects for a period of one year from the date of purchase. Any leakage or failure to perform or component failure deemed (at the sole discretion of Lucidair) to be a result of manufacture defect and not reasonable wear and tear will be remedied with full replacement by Lucidair Inc. This warranty is extended to the initial purchaser of the unit and Lucidair reserves the right to refuse to warrant any product without reasonable proof of purchase from an official retailer or agent of Lucidair Inc.
